Hiatus hernia in endoscopy
I have been antacid for a very long time. Having persistent chest pain left side middle of upper abdomen. For this we did angiography, ct chest, multiple times sono but all normal recently I did endoscopy. I want to understand what type of hernia I have. And what is the size of my hernia? My Dr again put me on an antacid but is not helpful.

Small hiatus is nothing to be worried about. Just avoid spicy fatty meals and late night meals to prevent reflux of acid. Lifestyle modifications.

Reflux of acid and/or food up into the Esophagus can cause chest pain. To confirm this, you will need further tests: 1. Esophageal Manometry 2. 24 hour pH. These are mostly done by Medical Gastroenterologists. If the diagnosis is confirmed then the cause (Hiatus hernia) can be repaired with surgery which is done Laparoscopic or robotically.
Next Steps
