Herepes zoster is cause by varicella-zoster virus the same virus that cause chicken pox, while HIV is caused by human immunodeficiency virus. Both are entirely different illnesses and caused by entirely different organisms. The chances of Herpes zoster infection are higher in persons already infected with HIV and the probability of contacting HIV is also higher in persons already inflicted with herpes zoster.
Next Steps
Get tested for HIV 1&2
Health Tips
You can decrease the future risk of contacting HIV by being in a obligative monogamous relationship whose STDs status is negative.
