Hernia post surgery

I had surgery to repair inguinal hernia in right groin 10 days ago.My surgeon used mesh in the repair. my wt is 90kg, ht is 6ft.I can clearly feel the ridge of the mesh under my skin. Will this edge soften as my body heals around the mesh,or m I going to be stuck feeling like i have a thin frisbee in my abdomen forever?

Hello,

I understand your feeling.

This feeling is common for a post hernia repair person. It would gradually fade of as it mingles with skin. As time progresses there will be tissue forming around it and you will not feel the same anymore like now. It would take 15 days to 1 month to heal. Take care if the sutures and do not move abruptly and do not.lift weights for 3 months. Sleep left or right laterally to defend the mesh's position.

Thank you
