Hep B vaccination
I took 6 weeks,10 weeks and 14 weeks vaccinations from govt hospital for my 5 months old daughter.pcv and rotavirus which is not available had taken from private. In her chart next vaccination dose is at 6 months OPV1 and Hep B3. In govt it is not available as they said it was covered in previous doses in pentavalent vaccination. Do I need to go to private for 6 months vaccine.please help. Also private hospital charges huge amount for vaccinations. Is there any difference in medicines in govt and private. Heard validity of vaccinations is only 2 years.is that true?

1. 6 mths vaccine is covered in govt vaccine of 6,10,14 weeks as govt has now started using pentavalent. So no need to go to private for 6 mths vaccine. 2. In private the charges are high because those vaccines are expensive, and hence not covered in govt hospital as govt can't afford those expensive vaccines for our high population (we are only responsible for same). 3. No difference in quality of vaccine in govt or private, it is just that few vaccines are not available in govt, that you can give in private. For that you can ask your pediatrician which you can take in govt.. and decide accordingly. 4. Validity (if you mean efficacy of vaccine, it depends from vaccine to vaccine, few has lifetime effectiveness, few 15-20 yrs and few for age till the disease is common), if you are talking about expiry it depends from vaccine to vaccine but all private and govt takes care of it pretty well so no problem from that end. Hope have answered all your queries well..
