Heavy menstrual bleeding with clots.
Good evening, I am having heavy periods for about a week and this problem is there for five to six years. It was found that I have ovarian cysts. Each time the heavy bleeding stopped either from taking pills or from home remedies which worked very well for me. But this time I just tried exercising a bit and my periods got worse. I'm not taking hormonal pills because the doctor was concerned that it has very bad side effects. I tried many remedies and also took tranexamic acid tablets but none of them are working for the first time. I am really worried because in three days my hemoglobin level has dropped from 12 to 10 there was a time when I had been admitted to the hospital for a blood transfusion too I don't want to go through the pain again. Please help me I'm very confused about the dangers of the pills like they may cause stroke or blood clotting and at the same time, it will be a problem if my periods don't stop immediately what can I do now?

You can try adding Evening Primrose supplements regularly for a month or 2. Flax seeds are also proven to improve such conditions.

First of all your impression about pills is not appropriate . I don't know who you have consulted about pills . Let me tell you something : Combined OCPs are the First line drug of choice for management of heavy menstrual bleeding ( it's even more helpful if your cycles are irregular ) as Low dose OCPs are not associated with very much high risk of venous thromboembolic phenomenon but still we avoid it in patients having history of Stroke/DM/DVT which clearly you are not having . Rather OCPs protect you against ovarian ca , Endometrial ca both
Next Steps
So kindly consult a OBGY doctor In hospital setup : get evaluated for the cause of HMB so that proper management can be done .
