This does not automatically mean a heart attack, but the symptoms are important and should not be ignored.
Your mother appears to have:
* Thyroid disease
* High blood pressure
* Menopause (3 years ago)
* Fast heartbeat (palpitations)
* Chest discomfort while talking or exerting herself
* Frequent fatigue
These symptoms can be caused by several conditions, including:
1. Poorly controlled thyroid disease (especially if thyroid hormone levels are high or medication dose is excessive).
2. Heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) causing a fast heartbeat.
3. Coronary artery disease/angina, which can cause chest discomfort and tiredness.
4. High blood pressure–related heart issues.
5. Anemia or other medical conditions.
Next Steps
See a physician/cardiologist soon and undergo:
* ECG
* Blood pressure assessment
* Thyroid function tests (TSH, Free T4)
* Complete blood count (CBC)
* Echocardiogram
* Further cardiac evaluation if indicated
Report to emergency immediately if:
* Chest pain becomes severe or lasts more than a few minutes
* Pain spreads to the arm, jaw, neck, or back
* Shortness of breath develops
* She becomes dizzy, faints, or has profuse sweating
* The heartbeat is very rapid and persistent
