Heart blockage
My husband is having heart blockage in his 3 arteries and all 3 are completely blocked.......Doctors are saying that chances of survival is 40% only. I just want to know that is it safe to go for the operation and what will be the chances of survival. His age is 30 and weight is 120, he is having high sugar too from 2 years.

The information provided is not enough to exactly estimate and describe the risk. But in general unless we are looking at very Emeregency surgery generally surgeries do not carry so much risk. Considering he has all three arteries blocked generally best option would be surgery. If he Admitted now with heart attack it may prudent wait for week or two before surgery. If not go ahead with surgery. If it's only by pass surgery even in worst case scenario the risk should be less than 20% and we are looking at 80% benefit. If there is any particular reason for which surgery is carrying very high risk as high as 60% than there may be role for considering multi vessel angioplasty in high volume centre with good cardiologist. Please rediscuss whole issue with your cardiologist and take forward
