Hearing Loss
We observed that our daughter is not hearing well with low volume sounds, in noisy background, sometimes she picks up the words incorrectly. But she is perfectly fine with normal/loud sound in a quite environment. These symptoms are found in the past one year. Early this year she had OME and treated with Taxim 100. Then again she had wax accumulated which was removed. Sometimes we feel her hearing is normal sometimes not very normal. So we had a hearing test done for her. OAE was absent (all 3 times). Tympanometry was done 2 times, first it was A type (Kid was awake) second it was As type (kid was sleeping, she had little cold). BERA showed mild to moderate hearing loss in right ear, mild loss in left ear. She never had any head injury, no family history of hearing loss. Please could you advise how we should proceed further. Is my daughter having inner ear or middle ear problem?
