Hearing loss in left

Asked for Male, 47 Years

Two years ago I was diagnosed with hearing loss in right side and recommended for hearing aid but now my left ear also getting pain since one week symptoms which were there before I was recommended for hearing aid. Is it the same and I wanted to know that will there be any surgery rather than going for a hearing aid

Pain usually not the cause for permanent hearing loss. You may be suffering from acute otitis externa which is a common type of ear infection. You may need to take antibiotics and painkillers along with antibiotic ear drops for few days.

Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required. Meanwhile you can use candibiotic ear drops three drops three times daily
