HCG trigger after IUI

Asked for Female, 24 Years

Hi. I have done my second IUI on August 19. Today is my 5dpo and 5dpiui. I ovulated naturally.on the very same day doctor did IUI for me and asked me to come on 26th August for HCG shot. ? Why he suggested me to take HCG trigger??

Hello HCG shot is usually not indicated post i u i procedure but in some cases repeat HCG shot of 5000 International units is been offered to support for the development of pregnancy and placentation believing that the iui has been a success. Ideally pregnancy should be confirmed before offering 2nd HCG shot.
