If husband is also thalassemia minor , then there is a 25% chance that baby will have. You can do prenatal genetic testing and selective embryo transfer via IVF Or NIPT/ amniocentesis for the baby at 14 weeks pregnancy. If husband is negative, nothing needs to be done.

Higher HBA2 percentage depicts thalassemia minor/major. So next step is partners HPLC for knowing the risk to the fetus. If both are thal minor/ one of you is major then you have to go for amniocentesis for the baby for further testings. If at all only one of is thal minor then only concern will be mother will be anemic and had to take supplements regularly Better to start on Tab FOLIC ACID 5mg once a day Thank you

It depends if both of you are carrier or have minor severity of the condition. Once you get the result get a genetic counseling done
