Hb1ac normal values
My question is about whether labs have different values because of regents used in processing? My lab report shows 6 as the A1C value and the lab reports show normal value as 6.2. I understand normal values are less than 5.7 but in this case can 6 be considered normal as the lab normal values show until 6.2 normal? I understand fasting is high too. But please restrict you are answer to differences is lab normal ranges.

HbA1c testing should be done in Labs which are NGSP standardised as this was used in DCCT trial which is a landmark trial showing significance of hba1c. As per biochemical reports lifestyle modification is sufficient for you. Repeat fasting sugars in 4 weeks and Hba1c in 3 months.
