Hairfall post Keratin treatment
I had got my hair treated with Keratin 3 months back. Now i am facing extreme hair fall/ breakage (where new grown hair and treated hair meets) after every combing session and while hair wash. Please suggest if I should continue using same Cacau shampoo/ conditioner or opt for hair treatment which would stop the hairfall

Hairfall is not due to one single cause. There are many conditions which can cause extreme hair loss and thinning of hair on the scalp. So first and foremost we have to find the cause of hair fall with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes maybe nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia also called pattern baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and read the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Also one should refrain from home remedies as it does not give any relief from hair fall. Oil and shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin. Please contact me using online consultation for proper diagnosis and treatment

Hello! Keratin treatments, Brazilian blow outs and Rebonding/permanent straightening all can potentially damage the hair shafts and lead to breakage as you’re experiencing right now. It doesn’t always happen, can happen when hair is subjected to these treatments repeatedly. Your shaft needs some support, you will need to use milder shampoos and a hair serum to help strengthen your hair to some extent to prevent breakage as much as possible. Kindly avoid getting these treatments in the future.
