Your dermatologist is qualified enough to start you on medication needed . These medications are indicated and as you might be knowing AGA that u suffer from Is not curable , it can only be prevented by regular medication which blocks the action of DHT . So regular medication under proper guidance is the need of the hour. Be in regular follow ups please and discuss your doubts openly with your doctor .

Test isn't required.... treatment depends on the grade...You are suffering from hormonal changes causing Androgenetic alopecia causing hair fall. It's completely stoppable even regrowth of hair is possible with certain medications without any side effects. Treatment depends on the grade of hair loss. So, it's a must for diagnosing which grade, you are in for an effective treatment. Please  send photos of your head, by direct online consultation for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.
