Hi. Do not worry. Hairfall after an illness is suggestive of Acute Telogen effluvium. This commonly occurs after 3 months of the illness, however can vary between 6-16 weeks depending on various other factors. Telogen Effluvium need not necessarily treated since its largely self limiting but can indeed be supported by use of certain peptide based lotions with the prescription of a QUALIFIED DERMATOLOGIST. Also get evaluated for common deficiencies and hormonal imbalances that can trigger hairfall. Minoxidil is usually avoided in case of acute telogen effluvium. Warm regards, Dr Govind S Mittal, Therapeia Skin Hair and ENT Centre.
