Hair fall and iron deficiency
Can iron supplements be taken by crushing and dissolving in water? I really can’t swallow pills. Been years of trying. Nada progress. I’ve been traced w iron deficiency. I’ve been prescribed ferrous Ascorbate, folic acid tablets. I crush them both and take w water. Is it safe? Can it harm my stomach lining? Should I do sth to protect my lining too? Any way?

Greetings - dont worry- why take so much pain ? you can try syrups that contain iron. pls consult your treating dr and ask for iron syrups like dexorange / etc. hope this helps. Low iron levels can indeed be a cause for unhealthy hair / breakage as well as hair fall. if hair fall persists despite correction of iron stores/anaemia - then furhter evaluation is advisable.
