Had pregnancy hypothyroid
Hi I had hypothyroid during pregnancy and was on thyrox for almost a year(37.5 MCG to 25 MCG and then 12.5 MCG) and subsequently stopped taking it on doctor's advice. Now my total T4 value seems to be below normal. What should I do? I have attached blood report.

Your T4 is only slightly below normal. TSH level is the one that is usually tracked to determine if thyroid medicine is necessary or not. T3 is the active form of the thyroid hormone and it’s normal on your case. After pregnancy the dose of thyrox generally decreases and you potentially come off it as well depending on your levels. Since TSH and T3 are normal, and T4 is only marginally low, medications / Thyrox is not necessary at this time. Would recommend obtaining TSH, free T4 and Total T3 is 4 weeks to monitor for any changes and requirement food thyrox
