I have a growth at the point of my jaw, just under the ear. It has grown now to the size of a walnut and is very sore to touch. It has gone very red and looks like it us going to explode.

You seem to be suffering from cervical lymphadenitis secondary to throat or skin infection. You may need to take antibiotics and painkillers for few days. If your swelling persists then you may need to undergo test known as fine needle aspiration cytology
