Grade 3 Fatty Liver, Hb1Ac 6.6 EGA 143
I have Hb1Ac 6.6 and EGA 143. The doctor has asked me to make lifestyle changes. I have changed my diet and started losing weight. I have been diagnosed with a Grade 3 Fatty Liver. CAP 304, Median 11. LFT normal. The doctor has prescribed medicines Bilypsa and thiotres. As I have read on Google, it said Bilypsa is for Non-alcoholic FD fatty liver as well as type 2 diabetes. I want to manage my sugar level without Medicine. Will Bilypsa have any impact in future once I stop taking it. My 2 hours post meal sugar remains between 108-120. Will I be able to maintain that in future also without medicine once this medicine stop?

BilYpsa (saroglitazar 4 mg) can reduce liver fat and improve lipids and HbA1c while you take it, but its benefits are not permanent after stopping unless lifestyle changes are sustained; it is not a cure and glucose may drift up again if weight, diet, and activity are not maintained. Continue weight reduction to a healthy waist and BMI; recheck HbA1c, fasting glucose, lipid panel, ALT/AST, and elastography/CAP in 3–6 months to gauge response. If triglycerides remain high or liver fat/fibrosis remains severe, a finite course of saroglitazar with monitoring can be reasonable; stopping later should be paired with strict lifestyle to preserve gains, and therapy decisions should be individualized with your hepatologist/endocrinologist.
