Grandparent transmission rates for schizophrenia are low. One parent transmission is upto 12%. Although such numbers are available. Schizophrenia has multiple causes apart from genetics.

Sir, schizophrenia does indeed have a genetic factor, however it is only a chance that one may inherit it from the parent or grandparent as your wife’s genetic disposition may also impact the the genetic composition of your child. Schizophrenia is not just mental and emotional, it also has physiological and physical aspects to it that can be detected early in the pregnancy process.
Next Steps
Even if you do plan to have a baby, there are advanced techniques now that to a good extent can detect any abnormalities in the brain stem. Thus the foetus can be aborted early in the process, and you can try again.
Health Tips
If you are not comfortable with the process and emotional effects that it may entail, there are definitely other ways you can conceive. If you are planning for a baby, you should definitely get opinion from a gynaecologist for this concern.
