Getting nervous when speaking in public
I get nervous when speaking to more than 4 people. i don't open up. my hands starts to shiver and my heart beat increases when speaking infont of crowd. i don't know why i hold back. i am not sure of this has to do with the incident from my past. Please help me on how to overcome this fear. Thanks in advance

It may be due to anx4 disorder, depression, social phobia or social adjustment problems etc. U must consult immediately with a psychologist and take help to improve ur mental health status. After examination u properly one can give u suitable Behaviour therapy to improve ur reaction in certain conditions.

Hi It's because of low confidence and self esteem which you need to work on. Take help from mental health professional for this. Do the following exercise Place your hand on your abdomen so you can feel your lungs filling with air. After holding it for a few seconds, exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this until you feel your heart slow and you become more relaxed. Try to clear your mind and just concentrate on your breathing. Consult with me or any psychologist for therapy and counseling to eradicate this problem All the best

What happened to you in the past? On the basis of Information given here it seems that you are experiencing Anxiety. You should consult a Clinical Psychologist to overcome this fear.

Social anxiety disorder, also called social phobia, is an anxiety disorder in which a person has an excessive and unreasonable fear of social situations. Anxiety (intense nervousness) and self-consciousness arise from a fear of being closely watched, judged, and criticized by others. Symptoms include: Tremors, feeling anxious or nervous, sense of panic, sweating, increased heartbeat, feeling of impending doom, stomach discomfort, dizziness etc These can be debilitating. If the anxiety us overwhelming, consult a psychiatrist at the earliest. With the right medication and counseling, it is likely your symptoms will improve.
