Genital herpes outbreaks
Is there any cure for frequent genital herpes outbreaks? It comes out around periods time (before or after) every month. doc advised acyclovir course (for 5-10 days) every month before periods but seems not helping much to supress it. plz advise how to control and stop it ?

Hi there...I can understand your concern. Acyclovir suppression therapy can be started if you are having recurrent genital herpes. It involves taking acyclovir for about 6 months to 1 year. But first the disease should be confirmed through HSV 2 IgG testing. Consult a dermatologist. They will evaluate you further and start on necessary treatment.
