Gefitinib efficacy check
My mother is having recurrent Plueral effusion due to malignancy of Left lung. She is EGFR positive and doctor has out her on Gefitinib/Iressa. How can we track if Iressa is effective or not? Which is better Gefitinib or Alotinib?

The only way to know whether it's working is to repeat a CT scan after 3-4 months, both geftinib & erlotinib are equally efficacious.

How is she symptomatically? Has she improved? Effusion is a non measurable target, does she have metastases anywhere else detected on imaging?
