Gallstone with no pain
I have a gallstone of 1.64cm in Gb lumen. However it was accidentally found during USG. I don't have any pain or any problem. Can I continue with medication for now?

Hi if there is no upper abdominal pain / post meal fullness / discomfort / upper back pain , then you don't require surgery. This is asymptomatic gall stone. In case you develop any of above symptoms then you require surgery. Any stone more than 1.5 CMS in size needs removal of gall bladder. There is no any medicines in present world to dissolve gall bladder stone. Laparoscopic approach is gold standard for gall bladder removal. You can read my article on Practo- Gall bladder stone.Feel free to ask any further quary.

1.64cm is a huge stone.. go ahead for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy.. the stone can block the neck of the gall bladder and lead to complications..
