My father had undergone gall stone surgery past 6 months. He is recently getting pain on abdominal region and in ingestion found that there are still some stones are there in gallbladder . In that 5mm is the maximum size of largest stone. Is that surgery is really necessary or any other way to cure.

From your note it is not clear what the first surgery was. However if the 5 mm stone is in the gall bladder or in the bile duct it can only be treated surgically. There is no medication that can effectively dissolve it.
