My uncle is having stones in his Gall bladder of about 25 mm. Is surgical removal nassessary?

Yes 25 mm stone is of significant size. He might be asymptomatic but consider a surgery in case he suffers from diabetes also .
He might be having gall stone dyspepsia in view of such a huge stone
