In people with G6PD deficiency, hemolytic anemia can occur after eating fava beans or certain legumes. It may also be triggered by infections or by certain drugs. There are a few cases of severe haemolysis in infants with G6PD deficiency after henna application but unaccounted in adults. Its better to avoid using henna on infants.
