Hello all doctors,
All these pandemic days make many people to stick to the home and tight working schedules,I also fall under the same category. Working as software developer for me, All these days have been very stressed and and lesser activity for body, this causing me to gain weight around 10 kgs from 70 to 80 kgs. Keeping all these in mind I decided to do some activity for body and started swimming one hour a day which I felt something peaceful but, Due to winter I could not put much efforts for this swimming. I am planning to go to gym which is something I never did before, Here I am seeking for some suggestions that what kind of gym activities I need to do(cardiology, strength etc.), Do I need any Full body check up as precaution?. Hope I will get some help here.

First consult a senior sports physiotherapist near by & do complete physical fitness , body posture correction , muscle flexibility level , spasmed muscle groups .
Don't go to local gyms & body builders .
Check for a fitness expert likes ACE, ACSM , etc
If ur not under a safe hand u will b get injured

2. Don't put heavy weights in gym , progress slowly
3. Don't sit for long hours , take breaks and walk in between breaks
Swimming is the best exercise ever that you have started already. you can continue doing that later on.
As you told that you can't continue due to climatic conditions you can try cycling initially for half an hour twice a day if possible.
simple warm-up exercise will do inbetween your work schedule.
try to do relaxation exercise once or twice in a day which will help to reduce work pressure.
jackobson's relaxation exercise will cover the whole body parts so you can try that.
Healthy diet is also important avoid junk food & packed item.

I would recommend you to do complete health check then join a corporate gym. For initial days, that is for three months you can hire a personal trainer.
He will guide you in cardio training and strength training.
You can go.to gym, as there will be instructor available at gyms, they will guide you to loft the weights depending on your body conditions.
As per your age, if you want to opt for body checkyp, there is no need bit still as a precaution you can under go full body checkup.
