Hello, My father is suffering from shoulder stiff which was diagnosed as frozen shoulder (left shoulder) and was advised to undergo Manipulation under Anaesthesia. Please let us know if there would be any side effects associated with this process. Also, can the condition be cured with medicines. He has Parkinson's and tremor in the right hands.

If the movement of shoulder has been getting less and less with additional pain, then manipulation under anaesthesia is the Most effective. This condition tends to improve with time, but can take up to 18 months. Even after undergoing manipulation physiotherapy is needed on a regular basis. There are a few risks, which are best discussed with the surgeon who is planning to do this procedure.
