Hi,
My daughter, she is 16 months old and she is having fever around 101 deg F and no other symptoms as such like vomiting/dysentry.
We are giving Calpol 120mg syrup 5ml in every 4 hrs still body temp is not coming below 99 deg F.
We also observed that right side canine and first molar tooth are erupting leading some bulge in gum area.
Is fever due to that? Also why body temp is not coming down?
Is any other problem she is facing?
Thank you

This could be a simple Viral infection.. you continue giving Calpol as you are using with tepid sponging in case fever is more than 101.. It will take 2 to 3 days more to subside completely..
Next Steps
Review or visit a consultation facility with Paediatrician in case fever persists beyond 3 days..or there is some other problem along with it.

Hello this seems like a viral infection from the history, viral infection can cause high grade fever continue paracetamol. Monitor for oral intake is the child feeding well, passing urine 6 to 8 times a day. If baby is active in the interfebrile period its mostly viral fever. But if there is no oral intake and baby is inactive u shuld consult local pediatrician.
Next Steps
Monitor fever and urine output as i said earlier. And also look for cough or cold symptoms giving further clue to diagnosis.
Health Tips
If there is no feed intake and fever is not subsiding despite antipyretics do consult a pediatrician.
