Your symptoms — frequent vaginal + armpit itching (recurrent, responds temporarily to fluconazole, no foul smell/discharge) + recent dull aching anal pain (3 days, no itching/irritation, started severe but gradually improving) + ongoing cough (5 days) — in a woman with type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, and PCOD, point strongly to recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection) worsened by uncontrolled diabetes + possible anal/perianal candidiasis or irritation from chronic moisture/sugar in stool.
The anal pain is not typical hemorrhoids/fissure (no bleeding, no itching, dull ache, self-improving), but fits yeast-related perianal inflammation or referred pelvic discomfort from vaginal yeast spillover.
The cough (5 days) is most likely a separate viral upper respiratory infection — not directly related, but diabetes + hypothyroidism make you more prone to infections overall.
Next Steps
1. Stop self-medicating fluconazole — repeated use without addressing root cause (diabetes/PCOD control) causes resistance and recurrence.
2. See a doctor urgently (within 2–3 days max):
• Gynecologist (first choice — for vaginal/anal symptoms)
• Or endocrinologist (if sugar control is poor)
• Bring: recent HbA1c, fasting/postprandial sugar, thyroid reports, list of medicines
3. Likely tests/treatment doctor will do:
• Vaginal swab (wet mount + culture) — to confirm Candida species & rule out bacterial vaginosis/mixed infection
• Perianal swab if pain persists
• HbA1c + fasting/postprandial glucose — to see current diabetes control
• Repeat TSH + free T4 — hypothyroidism can worsen yeast infections
• Possible stool test if anal pain continues or mucus appears
Health Tips
• For vaginal/armpit itching (until doctor visit):
• Keep area dry — use cotton underwear, change frequently, pat dry after bath/toilet
• Apply plain coconut oil or zinc oxide cream (Sudocrem, Desitin) — soothing & antifungal
• Avoid soaps, talc, synthetic underwear, tight clothes
• For anal discomfort:
• Warm sitz bath (plain warm water in tub) 10–15 min, 2–3 times/day — reduces pain fast
• Apply Anovate / Shield cream (or plain petroleum jelly) after bath/toilet — protects skin
• High-fiber diet + plenty of water — softens stool, reduces strain
• For cough (mild, 5 days):
• Warm water + honey + tulsi/ginger — 3–4 times/day
• Steam inhalation 10 min twice daily
• Avoid cold drinks, AC, dust
• Diabetes control is key — high sugar feeds yeast → recurrent infections. Check fasting/postprandial sugar daily; aim fasting
Your symptoms are suggestive of recurrent fungal (candida) infection. Because you have diabetes, this can recur. The present anal pain is likely due to a small fissure or local muscle spasm, especially after recent cough/strain.
Next Steps
Get Vaginal swab (KOH / fungal culture) and HbA1C test done if episodes are frequent and to rule out poor diabetic control.
Health Tips
This looks minor and treatable, once the fungal infection and bowel strain are controlled, the pain should settle. Please don’t worry.
Seems fungal infection.
Take tab ketoconazole 200mg one daily for 7 days.
Apply candid b ointment over itchy parts, twice daily for 14 days, use mycoderm dusting powder over underarms and pelvic parts. 3 times daily.
Keep the parts clean and dry.
Use only cotton clothes.
Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis. Its a fungal infection, More common in patients with type 2 diabetes, PCOD, and hypothyroidism. Cough problem is due to thyroid abnormalities. For anal itching , take sitzbath .donot take fluconazole self because its causes resistance also.please consult a local gynecologist to confirm via KOH mount test.consult me on practo for further management and evaluation.
Okkk i can guide you in some way like
You have discharge is exactly which colour i mean transparent white ? Off white? Greenish ? I want to know exact colour of that bcz depends on that the infection is varried.
Second things you shouldn’t have to take flucon by your self bcz it’s dose and duration of the flucon is varried according to the infection severity
Tell me you have abdominal pain or not?? After the staring of the discharge and itching???
Itching in the armpits and in anus suggestive of fungal infection you have to take the proper treatment of it with full course then only it will be resolved.
You have cough but which type ?? Suki khasi hai ya cough bhahar aata hai ki nhi ?? Aata hai to kon se colour ka aata hai ?? You should consult the dr properly then they will assess you in all way and tell your exact solution of the both things
