Sir,kindly help me for strep throat infection recurrent 2-3 months span since 20 years. Got myself diagnosed at CMC VELLORE as strep throat infection and prescribed amoxicillin 500 for 10 days and advised to maintain lifestyle and food habits. Consulted so many doctors and now feeling helpless to whom to consult and is so often that I use to take medicine by my own . Fearing the side effects too. Last two times while coughing I got two blood spots too with cough after I brush in the morning for 2-3 days. Consulted doctor and he said it is from lungs.prescribed me cefodoxime and sleeping pills for 5 days. Really concerned and tensed. Plz help take proper decision,tests and treatment plz.🙏

If you have associated tonsillar infection too then tonsillectomy may help.
There may also be reflux associated so avoid spicy food.
Blood spots can be from gums or upper throat.
Dont worry..

Strep infection confirmed all the time by swab test for culture
And recurrent throat pain and intermittent blood spots could suggest it to be Laryngopharyngeal Reflux
