Fracture on left hand ankle
My mother fell down and her left hand hit a wall. Left hand ankle got fractured after taking x-Ray. Doctor suggested that surgery is required for placing the K-wire to keep bones align before he puts bandage.
Please advice whether surgery is mandatory or not

If the fracture is not passing through joint and does not involve multiple pieces than k wiring can be tried
Otherwise we need to fix it with a spicier plate meant for this fracture , after which you don't require plaster
