Foul Smelling, Gresy Stool
My son stool test declares Color: yellowish Consistency: semi solid PH: Acidic Reducing substance : present + Fat globules : present + + + Bacilli : present + He has slow weight gain, loose motion every 2-3 weeks, with foul smelling gresy stool I am still breast feeding. Pm I am lactose intolerant, but have cream cakes, occasionally, foods with curd(since i cant digest milk) , or tea ( twice a day) in small quantities. Can my son be lactose intolerant too? I didn't give him cow milk products yet, except for clarified butter(ghee) which i give him daily.

Fat in stools can be because of various reasons. Celiac disease, lactose intolerance and other causes. But mother's milk does not cause problem except very rarely. What other foods are being given to the child.? Further evaluation is needed. Repeat tests may be done after a while.
