Fosfomycin sachet and loose stools
I had a burning sensation after passing urine and passed only a very little amount of urine. The doctor said I might have some urine infection and gave me fosfomycin sachet powder to take it once. Didn't check the urine test or culture.  I took this on Tuesday and I am passing loose stools after that. It's not like watery diarrhea. It's like soft mushy stools which stick on the toilet bowl. Not solid shape.  I passed those loose stools three times Wednesday and Thursday. It also smells like a foul smell. It's semi liquid soft mushy stools. Is it normal to have these types of stools after the fosfomycin sachet?  I also got anus fissures the next day of taking this medicine. Got the medicine for anal fissure.. Is it expected to have loose stools for a long time after fosfomycin?  I am worried if taking this fosfomycin medicine without confirming the UTI without the urine test causes any harm?  When will this loose stools stop after this medicine?  Also, i have burning in the anus.

Loose, mushy stools for a few days after a single-dose antibiotic like fosfomycin are a known side effect, since it can disturb the normal gut bacteria balance. This usually settles within 3 to 5 days on its own and doesn't mean the antibiotic caused other harm. The anal fissure is likely from the loose, frequent stools irritating the area, not from the medicine itself.
Next Steps
Stay well hydrated, add curd or a probiotic to your diet, and keep the anal area clean and dry after each stool to help the fissure heal. If burning on passing urine continues, ask your doctor for a urine culture to confirm the infection properly.
Health Tips
See a doctor soon if the loose stools continue past a week, you see blood, or you develop fever or severe anal pain.
