Greetings Aptamil Premium and Aptamil Gold are both high-quality standard infant formulas, but they have distinct differences in their nutritional enhancements. Aptamil Gold typically contains advanced premium ingredients like special Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs), specific prebiotic blends, and higher levels of DHA/ARA to closely mimic breast milk components for digestive and brain development. Aptamil Premium provides the core, essential standard nutrients required for healthy growth but may lack some of these highly specialized prebiotic and fatty acid upgrades found in the Gold version.

Hello, Aptamil Preterm is a special formula given to preterm babies in initial weeks till they reach around 2 kg and are discharged from hospital. After that, baby is usually shifted to a regular term formula like Aptamil Gold or Aptamil Premium Stage 1. Both Aptamil Gold and Aptamil Premium are standard term infant formulas and both are suitable after Aptamil Preterm if baby is gaining weight well and tolerating feeds. The main difference is composition - Gold contains prebiotics and balanced nutrients, Premium contains added HMO and prebiotics with slightly different blend. Nutritionally both meet requirements for term infants. Since you are already using Aptamil Premium and baby is tolerating it well with good weight gain and no vomiting, loose motions or colic, you can continue the same. Frequent switching of formula is not advisable. There is no need to worry, both are good. Please continue whichever your pediatrician has advised.
Next Steps
1. Continue same formula (Aptamil Premium) if baby is tolerating well and gaining weight. 2. Do not frequently switch between Gold and Premium without pediatrician's advice. 3. Continue regular weight check with your pediatrician to ensure growth is on preterm growth chart. 4. Discuss with your pediatrician at next visit which formula to continue.
Health Tips
Prepare formula exactly as per instructions on pack - correct dilution, clean hands and sterilized bottles. Do not over-dilute or over-concentrate. If baby develops excessive crying, vomiting, blood in stool, poor weight gain or loose motions after formula change, contact your pediatrician immediately. Keep vaccination as per corrected age.

Dear both are from same company Danone but with price differences, if baby is well thriving and without any gut issues or feed intolerance issues, continue aptamil premium, otherwise you can slowly wean to gold as well..the difference is in few phospholipids and HMO content, gold has more HMO which helps build gut immunity and support the good microbiome
Next Steps
can continue premium if baby weight and development  are at par
Health Tips
usually we start aptamil gold right from start

Preterm babies usually move from a preterm formula to a regular stage-1 formula once they cross a certain weight and corrected age, and that timing depends on your baby's growth, not the brand. If your baby is feeding well, gaining weight steadily and not vomiting or having loose stools on the current formula, staying on it for now is reasonable.
Next Steps
Whether to switch should be checked against your baby's current weight and corrected age at your next pediatrician visit, since preterm babies often need extra calorie support for longer. Carry the growth chart to that visit.
Health Tips
See your pediatrician sooner if your baby isn't gaining weight well, vomits after most feeds, or has persistent loose stools.
