Fissure laxative or stool softner
I have been sufferring from anal fissures for about 4 years. I have been taking "d-peg plus" on and off to ease bowel movements. Sometimes I take it months together. Is it safe to take it for a prolonged period of time?. Or is there any stool softener or laxative which I can take life long ?

If you are having fissure for 4 years then it's chronic fissure and the advise would be to undergo surgery with general surgeon.
Lateral spincterotomy it will give you relief from your spincter.
It's relatively minor surgery and will be performed quickly.
