Finasteride stops conversion of (Male Hormone) Testosterone into Dihydro-testosterone which is the active form Hormone. Therefore Finasteride reduces the active form of the male Hormone in a person, who is taking it.
However once anyone stops taking Finasteride , this effect can be reversed. So any side effect if it is there will start reducing once a person stops taking it.
