Hi there...since it is still only 1 day, continue with the antipyretic. Try to get your temperature checked atleast once daily. If the fever doesn't reduce in 1 to 2 days or you start developing other symptoms like body ache, joint pain, reddness rashes or spots on the body, then consult your general physician again. You might be required to get blood tests done. And start on oral antibiotics also.
