Fever on n off
Hello doctor my son is 10months old 1 week back he had taken mmr vaccine, told told after 1week there will be fever, now from past 3days he is having on n off fever, in the evenings fever is more than 101 ,same thing is happening from 3 days, he is having cough also when consulted 3days back doctor gave rapidus n hicet ax syrup, I want to no why the fever is not subsiding, generally after vaccination fever goes away after 2days in this mmr vaccine case why is it like this.

It is fine if baby doesn't have any danger sign and feeding is good ,then just follow the course ,if high grade fever is present use the fever syrup 6th hourly and do tepitz sponging with liuke warm water. Baby is dull only during fever spike and in between active no need to worry it us usually viral.

Fever could be viral upper respiratory infection not due to vaccination, Kindly take prescribed medication as it might take 5-7 days, if persistent go for physical examination and investigation
