My husband's fasting sugar is 162 today. He has been taking glyciphage 500 mg. Twice a day. He exercises regularly and eats food in moderation. Please advise if this sugar level is risky and if he should undergo a proper treatment.

In this case FBS is not under control. His medication to be changed Or Glimepride 1 mg to be given twice daily and the monitor FBS/PPBS/HbA1C every 3 months.
