Yes you have to take medicine. But since you are 27yrs old and overweight. Change in lifestyle and weight reduction schedule and diet high in protein low in carbohydrates and fats with high fibre will reduce sugar . Get your lipid profile too, GTT and urine analysis for sugar and protein done. Discuss with reports

Get ur HbA1C and urine examination. U have to control ur diet and change ur lifestyle. Medicine can be started for diabetes after the evaluation and HBA1C test.
