Hello Friend, thanks for reaching out here for help. First, both of you should be mentally prepared to have a child and ready to enter into parenthood. It's a all new world and it brings it's own joy and little challenges. Second,  ensure you both don't  have any medical history that may hamper the process. If so address it. Importantly, due to modern day lifestyle and stress, more delay will create more complexity especially for women.  Also ensure, if working couples, how you will balance your career, work life balance. It's  important to be little proactive. Wish you to see a good parent soon.
