Sneezing and coughing typically do not directly cause or increase the risk of a retina tear or hole. Forceful  or sudden movements, such as heavy lifting, staining, or vigorous exercise, may potentially increase the risk of worsening an existing tear or hole. Therefore, it's generally recommended to follow your doctor's advice and take precautions to protect your eyes, especially if you have an existing retina condition.
