Hello. I think you have allergic conjunctivitis. 1. Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). 2. The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is a. Avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem. B. Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. C. Use antiallergic eyedrop like olopat eyedrop twice daily d. Lubricating eyedrop like flogel thrice daily e. Use mild steroid like flurisone in pulse dose in severe allergy this will help you I am very sorry dear to say that there is no medicine that can cure allergy. Only way is to stay away from all those things that you are allergic to. This is a provisional diagnosis. Consult your ophthalmologist for detailed examination

It is spring catarrh, it usually start from  March.& last Upto October , your child ii just  9 yrs &  it will stay for another 4-5 yrs,  there is grey redness around cornea& severe itching ,it comes under under allergic conjunctivitis but goes with the time .you will have to take precautions in using such medicine which has no side effects otherwise it will result into cataract & glaucoma.I have seen these problems due to misuse of corticosteroid due to lack of knowledge of parents, you have to use such medicine which has no side effects even after long use other wise you will repent later on because you will have to keep  child on medicine  for few years till it will disappear with passage of this time. You have use medicines which just control itching, just don't care about color because it is not going to disappear at present completely. If you can afford boarding school in cold place ,with change of place it will disappear itself like Simla or Daljaling or  any cold place .you should stop loteprednol after one vial ,it can not be used for long time. You may use Pataday eye drops twice + genteal eye drops 3-4 times + phenil eye drops 3 times till for long time without anytoide effects,if very severe itching not controlled by eye drops you may use antiallergic tab also to control itching but not corticosteroid.

Your son seems to be suffering from severe allergic conjunctivitis (limbal VKC). Continue Lotepred LS & add eye ointment Ocupol Dx at bed time for a week along with Refresh tear Eyedrop 4 times. Consult an eye specialist if it doesn't get better or worsens.
