Extraction of wisdom tooth

Got my wisdom tooth removed 5 days ago as x-ray showed decay in it.Even after 5 days of removal pf wisdom tooth still have pain and in d night the pain increases to d extent that i cannot sleep Just wanted to know is it normal to have this much pain even after 5 days or something else could be wrong.
