Exessive folic acid cause autism ?
Respected Doctors My wife is 29 week pregnant.Her doctor suggest her orofer D3 which contain 1.5mg folic acid..and pregnacare(multivitamin  suppliment)which contain 1.2 mg folic acid..Her total dose of folic acid per day is 2.7mg. Starting from 16 week till she continue this two tablets.we search in google and you tube some study says high dose of folic acid cause autism in the baby..folic acid dose  required only first trimester (400 mcg to 800 mcg per day).. We are so much affraid..pls help us..Is it true or not?can too much follic acid harmful for baby? Plsssss help

You can shift to another multivitamin tablets which contains low amount of folic acid and you can have plain iron also but with this amount of folic acid it won't cause any anomaly to baby..

get your folate levels checked.if its normal range then u can stop the tablet
