My mother has suffered excessive menstrual bleeding (changing 1 sanitary napkin in less than an hour) for 7+ days before around 15 days and now she's got her menses again yesterday with the same heavy bleeding. Is it perimenopausal or there could be some other reason for it?

Check her hemoglobin levels , due to heavy menustral bleeding her HB would have become low , meet a gynaecologist asap , they can advice you medications to decrease bleeding
It's mostly due to perimenopause age, but it's better to get her evaluated with hormone tests and sonography and also start her with medications to stop so much bleeding
