Excessive hair fall
I am experiencing hair loss since last 2-3 years while i was recovering from typhoid. I have been on medication for the same. My hormonal tests are fine still i bear an evident male pattern baldness. My prescription drugs included finastride tablets and multivitamins. I used minoxidil solution (10%)for scalp. Kindly suggest what should i do to minimize this. Is hair transplant an option?

Hi. You may be suffering from early onset androgenetic alopecia. Could you send your pictures on follow up chat?! Apart from being genetically predisposed to balding, environmental factors , pollution, stress, junk food and poor diet could cause you to lose hair further. You'll probably need treatment with hair care lotions or serums - something that has vasodilator properties and improves thickness of hair and reduces hair loss. You are already on correct oral and topical medication - continue the same. Have a good balanced nutritious diet. Your hair density can be restored if you take timely treatment and care of your hair. Prp therapy is possibly a good treatment option. If bald areas are evident or if there are areas of visible balding, hair transplant can be done. See a dermatologist near you or send me further queries on follow up messaging. Hope this helps. Warm regards. Dr Govind S Mittal.
