Exacerbation in hospital
My mother was 77 years old. She was under treatment for COPD for approx. 8 years however the problem was chronic. She had hard time moving due to breathing difficulty but she was lucid, conscious and following her routines at home. From 1st March 2025 she started to have problems like fever, she was treated and recovered within 2 weeks. She was complaining of rapid breathing in night and dullness. We visited her regular pulmonologist twice and he noted 87% SPo2 on 4th April. On 16th April she was diagnosed with lungs infection by another doctor and started to have vaginal bleeding. We hospitalized her one of the biggest hospital in Bhopal on 18th April. At hospital her CO2 was also raising. She was given antibiotics like tazar and was on ventilator. Infection didn't improve, we lost her on 25th April 2025. How she was looking ok at home and condition exacerbated in hospital? Does her condition seems like COPD exacerbation? One pulmonologist diagnosed her with allergic asthma in 2018 .

firstly deep condolences and sorry for your loss..a diagnosis of copd or asthma is made after reviewing the spirometry findings along with radiological evidence and clinical history and progression..so don't look for a yes or no answer
